New RedBook app puts industry info at your fingertips

The Texas Bankers Association and NFR Communications have teamed to create the Texas Banking RedBook app. It is now available for download at the Apple store and the Google Play store. To celebrate the App’s launch, users who download and try the app between now and the end of the year receive a 30-day free trial.

The Texas Banking RedBook app puts all the features of the printed Texas Banking RedBook in a handheld device for easy access to industry information, such as bank financials, branch locations, links to bank trade groups, regulatory agencies, credit unions and information on multi-bank holding companies. There is also a search function that helps users find people who work in the banking industry throughout Texas. The weblinks and phone numbers presented for each institution are live so users can follow up with just a touch on your phone’s display screen.

“The RedBook is one of the most reliable sources of industry information in Texas. The RedBook app takes the financial institution directory to an entirely new level of convenience, offering instant access to the kind of information people rely on when they work in the banking industry,” said Chris Furlow, president/CEO of the Texas Bankers Association. “We are very excited to offer this resource to bankers and their colleagues in partnering industries.”

“The RedBook app is easy to download, easy to use and economically priced,” commented Tom Bengtson, president of NFR Communications. “Anyone who is involved in banking will find it to be a useful complement to the print directory. Furthermore, people who are unlikely to use a print directory can now have personal access to regularly updated information across the industry in Texas.

“The 30-day free trial period is a great way to try out the RedBook app. We have worked extensively to perfect the user experience. The app is brand new and we wanted to get it into the hands of as many people, as quickly as possible. The free trial is designed to encourage people to give it a try,” Bengtson said.

A subscription to the app costs less than per month; subscriptions can be obtained for periods of six months or one year, with the longer subscription offering a price discount. Data is provided by the banks themselves, as well as the FDIC.

The Texas Bankers Association is the largest state bankers association in the country. NFR Communications is a publishing and strategic communications firm specializing in serving the banking industry.
